A very warm welcome to Year 4.
I’m looking forward to an exciting year of learning together and we are very lucky to be supported in this by our experienced team of Teaching Assistants, Mrs Burvill and Mrs Arnold.
We will enjoy a topic-based approach to learning in a variety of styles to suit every learner. Over the course of the year, we will be geographers, historians, writers, mathematicians, scientists, musicians, computer programmers, designers, artists and more. There are also some exciting trips planned, including a Viking experience and our popular visit to Bletchley Park – the home of the Codebreakers.
If you have any questions, please feel free to speak to us.
What a busy term we’ve had. Just like Sam, the hero of our book ‘My Side Of The Mountain’, we understand why mountains are so endlessly fascinating. We have produced lots of excellent work, including atmospheric mountain watercolours and an amazing variety of writing. Through lots of hands-on learning, we now know what a mountain is (as oppose to a hill!); how mountains are made; where the main mountain ranges of the world and UK are located; what contour lines tell us; and who the first people to reach the summit of the world were.
