Welcome to Year Three. My name is Mr Hollis and I have been teaching since 2003. I lived and taught in China for six years before returning to the UK to continue my work in education. I enjoy riding any form of transport which has two wheels, and I like to explore different parts of the world when I can. I tend to walk, listen to music or watch my pet fish to relax.
I am Mrs Crouch, the teaching assistant in Year 3. I have an NVQ 3 qualification in ‘Supporting Teaching & Learning in Primary Schools’. I have worked in most year groups in the ten years I have worked at Alveston School. During the holidays, I enjoy visiting historical sights. This is why my favourite subject in Year 3 is the work we do about The Stone Age and Early Britons. I learn something new every year.
In Year Three, we like to encourage higher order thinking as well as fluency in the basics. We cover an exciting and creative curriculum which enables us to experience a wide range of learning opportunities. We develop our learning powers as well as our subject knowledge and skills so that we are empowered to be life-long and independent learners.
